Job description

Provide technology-related technical support and assistance to staff and users throughout the district.

Performance Responsibilities

  • Communicates effectively and cooperatively with all individuals in need of assistance with technology-related problems and issues.

  • Assist in providing problem-solving services to staff having difficulty with computer hardware, software, peripherals, and multimedia presentation systems.

  • Troubleshoots and resolves problems with computer hardware, software, and peripherals.

  • Troubleshoots and resolves minor problems with audio/visual multimedia presentation systems.

  • Installs technology-related hardware and software in coordination with building principals, facilities management, and other appropriate departments or individuals.

  • Assists in maintaining an up-to-date computerized inventory of computer hardware and software within the district.

  • Assists in providing technical support to users in many forms.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Accredited Equivalency.

  • Skilled in troubleshooting computer hardware and software problems.

  • Basic troubleshooting skills of audio/visual multimedia presentation systems.

  • Evidence of self-direction, initiative, and decision making.

  • Ability to communicate well, exercise skills in human relations and perform under conditions of stress.

  • A working knowledge of Microsoft and Google systems and products.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a k-12 environment.

  • A+ certified

  • Associates Degree in Information Systems or related field.

  • Have a willingness to improve and/or develop job-related skills.

  • Minimum three years of successful experience working with children and families in an urban educational setting and diverse/multi-cultural setting.
