Job description

The progressive Kimberly Area School District has a rewarding opportunity for a full-time Computer Technician I. The hours for this position will be from 7:00am to 3:00pm with an unpaid 30-minute lunch, for a total of 7.5 hours per day and 37.5 hours per week. The starting pay for this position is $21.50 per hour. This position will begin in July 2026.

The right candidate will:

  • Maintain and monitor end-user workstations on local area networks
  • Perform a variety of maintenance and software installations
  • Provide support and training tasks to end-users
  • Provide support to staff on all organization-supported applications, troubleshoot computer problems, determine source and advise on appropriate action.
  • Complete application project-based work.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Customer communication?, * High level diagnostic ability

  • Computer maintenance skills and ability to replace components
  • Ability to clearly explain computer operations in multiple forms (i.e. video, paper, and verbal)
  • Ability to work in a team environment and share knowledge
  • Good customer service skills; personable
  • Ability to problem-solve and be resourceful
  • Basic knowledge of networks
  • Diagnostic ability
  • Ability to install software and hardware; familiarity with application software
  • Ability to operate Windows
  • Knowledge of scanners, digital cameras, video projectors, and installation software
  • Familiarity with application software
  • Experience in computer hardware and software support
  • Knowledge of scanners, digital cameras, video projectors, and installation software
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Experience

  • Technical degree or 2 to 3 years information technology experience preferred
  • A+ certification preferred
