Job description

Anivas Tech is seeking a Data Engineer to support our government agency IT operations. We are looking for a skilled professional with 7+ years of relevant experience who brings strong technical expertise and a commitment to delivering high-quality results in a mission-driven, high-visibility environment. Requirements:

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes to support government agency data operations
  • Develop and optimize data models, schemas, and storage solutions using modern cloud and on-premise platforms
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and solution architects to define data requirements and translate them into technical designs
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and availability by implementing validation, monitoring, and alerting frameworks
  • Support integration of disparate data sources, APIs, and third-party systems into a unified data ecosystem
  • Maintain data governance practices including cataloging, lineage tracking, and metadata management
  • Troubleshoot data pipeline failures and performance issues in production environments
  • Document technical designs, data flows, and operational runbooks in accordance with project standards
  • Work within Agile/SAFe delivery teams, participating in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
  • Apply security best practices to protect sensitive government data in compliance with applicable regulations
  • US citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance

Requirements

Do you have experience in Technology security practices?, * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field; 5 additional years of relevant experience accepted in lieu of degree

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering, including pipeline development and data architecture
  • Proficiency in SQL and at least one scripting/programming language (Python, Scala, or Java)
  • Experience with data integration tools and platforms (e.g., Apache Spark, Kafka, Airflow, or equivalent)
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and cloud-native data services
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and database design
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working in a government or federal IT environment
  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks and compliance requirements (FISMA, FedRAMP)
  • Agile, SAFe, or hybrid delivery methodology experience
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for data solutions
  • Knowledge of NoSQL databases and real-time streaming architectures
