Job description

  • Provide technical support for library hardware, software, devices, and internet applications used by staff and patrons.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technology issues efficiently and professionally across assigned library locations.
  • Serve as a technology resource for staff and library users, helping them get the most out of library technology services.
  • Assist with the implementation, maintenance, and upgrading of computer systems, software, hardware, and network services.
  • Provide technology training and support for both staff and the public.
  • Schedule and teach Device Advice classes that help patrons build confidence with technology.
  • Support services such as the hotspot program, active directory, VPN setup, phone systems, inventory management, and other technology initiatives.
  • Travel between library branches to provide hands-on technical support where it is needed.
  • Perform other job-related tasks as needed to support department operations.

  • Experience with computer hardware, software, mobile devices, and common operating systems.
  • A strong communicator who can explain technical concepts in a clear, approachable way.
  • A self-starter who can work independently while collaborating effectively with teammates.
  • Someone who is organized, adaptable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
  • A technology enthusiast who enjoys learning new tools and helping others succeed with them.
  • A positive team member committed to providing outstanding service to staff and patrons alike., * Associate degree, technical school certification, or equivalent experience
  • Thorough understanding of computer hardware and software with one year of working experience with hardware and/or software
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft, IOS, Android, Chrome OS & Adobe products
  • Flexibility in work habits, including ability to work independently and in cooperation with colleagues and library patrons.
  • Familiarity with eBooks and their applications.
  • Demonstrated customer-service experience, patience under pressure, and comfort interacting with a wide range of patrons.
