Job description
We are seeking a Resident HPC HW Technician Specialist to support an HPE supercomputer environment for a client in Denver, CO or Oklahoma City, OK. The role will require on-site presence 3-4 days per week, close collaboration with the customer and remote HPE teams, and accountability for system availability and uptime to meet SLAs. The position will include daily break/fix activities, extensive troubleshooting, and part replacement across the system. You will respond to customer requests, deliver technical and operational support, and provide guidance as needed., * Maintain Linux supercomputer system availability to meet customer SLAs.
- Perform hardware diagnostics, break/fix, and repairs as required.
- Gather data, analyze issues, and escalate to higher-level support and management to ensure timely resolution.
- Apply broad knowledge of company technology to contribute to technical designs meeting customer requirements.
- Work under the direction of the Project/Technical Manager and with customer-designated representatives.
- Provide advice on solution and integration opportunities within defined segments.
- Communicate across the client community and add measurable value.
- Execute company strategy within the engagement scope.
- Contribute to knowledge tools and communities. Document and share project learnings.
- Model knowledge sharing and reuse within the practice.
Requirements
- 5+ years of Linux HPC-related experience, including large-scale HPC administration and hardware support.
- Strong experience with Linux/Unix OS, filesystems, networking, and security (Red Hat/CentOS or equivalent).
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or 8+ years of relevant professional experience.
- Ability to diagnose complex technical problems to root cause in multi-technology environments.
Preferred Skills:
- Working knowledge of RHEL or SLES.
- HPC hardware and software break/fix expertise.
