Job description

North Carolina Secretary of State is seeking an experienced ASP.NET Core MVC Developer to design, develop, test, and maintain secure, scalable, and high-performance web applications that support business operations and organizational objectives. The successful candidate will collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, and cross-functional development team to gather requirements, design technical solutions, and deliver software that meets functional and performance expectations.

Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining applications using C#, ASP.NET Core MVC, design and define relational databases, reengineer and automate processes to make them more efficient and streamlined, optimizing applications and database performance, define business rules, develop program specifications, help employees and customers with system problems, develop complete system documentation, and may supervise lower-level programmers and consultants.

Requirements

  • Extensive work experience with client/server applications development software including; C#, Asp.Net Core MVC, Microsoft SQL Server, HTML5 JavaScript, jQuery, developing and optimizing SQL queries.
  • Knowledge and experience with modern Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC)methodology/platform such as Azure DevOps and/or Git.
  • Experience with Agile processes and methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of RESTful APIs, JSON, and HTTP/HTTPS protocols.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and to communicate effectively in oral and written form with employees in the department and customers.

MANAGEMENT PREFERENCES: Management prefers applicants with at least 5 years work history showing Web development experience using C#, Asp.Net Core MVC, Microsoft SQL Server, HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery, developing and optimizing SQL queries. Experience developing and supporting workflow software supporting financial and business-oriented processes.

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or an IT related field or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience in business application consulting or development; or Associate degree in computer science or an IT related field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience in application consulting or development; or High School or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and six years of experience in business application consulting or development; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
