Support Engineer - Proxmox

We are seeking a Support Engineer with hands-on knowledge of Proxmox Virtual Environment (PVE) to join our technical support team.

This role focuses on assisting customers with the installation, configuration, operation, and troubleshooting of Proxmox environments. You will work directly with customers to understand technical issues, identify potential causes, and provide clear guidance toward resolution.

The ideal candidate has practical experience with Proxmox, strong Linux troubleshooting skills, a commitment to learning and improvement, and a team-oriented focus.

Key Responsibilities

· Assist customers with installing and configuring Proxmox Virtual Environment (PVE).

· Support standalone Proxmox servers and clustered environments.

· Troubleshoot Proxmox virtual machines and containers.

· Assist with Proxmox cluster configuration and troubleshooting.

· Support Proxmox networking and storage configuration.

· Assist with virtual machine creation, configuration, migration, backup, restore, and recovery.

· Troubleshoot common Proxmox performance and availability issues.

· Assist customers with Proxmox upgrades and system maintenance.

· Review available system information and logs to help identify technical issues.

· Provide technical support through ticketing systems and remote support sessions.

· Research technical issues using Proxmox documentation and other available resources.

· Clearly communicate troubleshooting steps and recommended solutions to customers.

· Document technical issues, troubleshooting procedures, and resolutions.

· Use internal documentation, support tools, automation, and AI-assisted resources to improve support efficiency.

· Escalate complex cases when additional technical expertise is required.

· Hands-on experience with Proxmox Virtual Environment (PVE).

· Familiarity with LVM concepts, procedures, and components

· Good understanding of Corosync and quorum concepts

· Good grasp of L2 and L3 networking concepts, as relevant to virtualization

· Ability to navigate and work effectively within the Proxmox web interface and CLI.

· Ability to research unfamiliar technical issues and apply available documentation.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills.

· Ability to explain technical information clearly to customers.

· Ability to work independently in a remote support environment.

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience supporting Proxmox in a production or business environment.

· Experience with multi-node Proxmox clusters.

· Familiarity with Proxmox High Availability (HA).

· Familiarity with Proxmox Backup Server (PBS).

· Experience performing Proxmox upgrades or migrations.

· Experience troubleshooting virtual machine and Linux performance issues.

· Previous experience providing remote technical assistance to customers.

· Ceph experience is a plus, You do not need to be an expert in every aspect of Proxmox. We are looking for someone with practical Proxmox knowledge, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to learn quickly.
