Job description
Location requirement: This role is remote/work-from-home requiring the candidate to live in or near Bakersfield, CA, and be available for in-person client site visits as needed, approximately 4-5 visits per month. Candidates outside the Bakersfield area will not be considered.
About Lehman Technologies
For over 25 years, our focus has been keeping our clientsâ IT systems operational, available, and secure - so they can focus on running their business instead of worrying about their technology., Weâre looking for a System Administrator to maintain, upgrade, and manage our clientsâ software, hardware, and networks. This role is primarily remote after an initial onsite orientation/training period, with periodic in-person visits to a local client site required. Because the work is remote, youâll need to be someone who manages your own priorities and workload without close daily supervision - youâre organized, communicate proactively, and know how to triage what needs attention first.
What Youâll Do
- Install and configure software and hardware
- Manage network servers and technology tools
- Set up accounts and workstations
- Monitor system performance and maintain systems to spec
- Troubleshoot issues and outages, often independently

- Upgrade systems with new releases and models
- Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies
- Build and maintain an internal wiki of technical documentation, manuals, and IT policies
Requirements
- Location: Must live in or near Bakersfield, CA and be available for onsite client visits
- Proven, verifiable experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar role (we will ask for specifics/examples during interview)
- Hands-on experience with: Active Directory & Group Policy, Office 365, firewalls (NAT, port forwarding, rule sets), network switching (routing, VLANs, topology), SMTP, DHCP, DNS, VOIP
- Experience with databases, LAN/WAN networks, and patch management
- Working knowledge of system security (intrusion detection, etc.) and backup/recovery practices
- Scripting ability in PowerShell
- Demonstrated ability to self-manage: prioritize competing tasks, meet deadlines without in-person oversight, and communicate status proactively
- Strong customer service orientation and communication skills - youâll interact directly with client teams and end users of varying technical skill levels
- Resourcefulness and problem-solving skills, * Active Directory - Administration including group policy: 2 years (Preferred)
- Office 365 - Administration including Entra and Purview: 1 year (Preferred)
