Job description

We are seeking a Senior Android Mobile Engineer to support two highly visible mobile applications within the pharmaceutical and healthcare digital ecosystem: a healthcare commercialization application and a specialty pharmacy application.

This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building and enhancing core mobile functionality that drives customer engagement and digital experiences. The ideal candidate is a strong individual contributor who can work independently, take ownership of features, and deliver high-quality code with minimal guidance.

The team is looking for experienced engineers who enjoy being heads-down in development, solving complex technical challenges, and contributing directly to the evolution of large-scale consumer-facing mobile applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain native Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.

  • Build and enhance core functionality for the mobile applications.

  • Support features within the commercialization platform, including:

o Navigation experiences

o Search functionality

o User adoption and engagement features

o Push notifications and customer communications

  • Support features within the specialty pharmacy application, including ownership of core business functionality outside of pharmacy and authentication experiences.

  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineering teams to deliver scalable mobile solutions.

  • Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and software design decisions.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues while ensuring application performance and reliability.

  • Contribute to the ongoing modernization of mobile application architecture and development practices.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional Android development experience with deep expertise using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.

  • Strong ownership mentality with the ability to independently drive features from design through release, understanding the full software development lifecycle beyond just coding.

  • Experience integrating APIs (REST and/or GraphQL) and collaborating across multiple teams to deliver complex functionality within large-scale applications.

  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD and release processes, including tools such as GitHub Actions, CircleCI, App Store Connect, automated testing, and unit testing.

  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, with proven experience partnering with Product, Design, Analytics, Accessibility, and Engineering teams in a highly visible environment.

  • Strong understanding of mobile application architecture, performance optimization, and best practices. * Experience working on large-scale consumer-facing mobile applications.

  • Familiarity with push notification frameworks and mobile engagement features.

  • Experience with modern Android architecture patterns (MVVM, Clean Architecture, etc.).

  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automated testing practices.

  • Experience within healthcare, pharmacy, or other regulated industries.
