Senior Design Engineer

• Design and develop cutting tools, tooling systems, and precision-engineered components.
• Produce detailed SolidWorks 3D models, 2D CAD drawings, BOMs, and manufacturing documentation.
• Drive product development from concept through prototype, testing, and production.
• Apply mechanical engineering principles to optimise tool performance, durability, and manufacturability.
• Work closely with production, CNC machining, and commercial teams to deliver innovative engineering solutions.
• Support continuous improvement, product enhancement, and new product introduction projects.
• Liaise with customers and internal stakeholders to understand and translate technical requirements into practical designs.

This role is ideal for an engineer with 5+ years’ experience in mechanical design within a manufacturing environment, who understands both the technical and practical aspects of designing products for efficient production and performance., * Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Mechanical Design Engineer role.
• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks and 2D CAD.
• Experience designing components or products for manufacture within a precision engineering or tooling environment.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, machining methods, materials, and Design for Manufacture (DfM).
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.

Desirable

• Experience within the cutting tool, tooling, precision machining, or metalworking industries.
• Knowledge of CNC machining, tool geometry, and product validation.
