Job description
Own the product roadmap, release plan, priorities and delivery schedule for the SmartULD software platform.
- Translate customer requirements and commercial commitments into a clear and buildable development backlog.
- Manage external software development partners, including deliverables, acceptance criteria, milestones and performance.
- Ensure strong software delivery practices, including testing, CI/CD, security, scalability and release management.
- Manage dependencies between software, device firmware, connectivity and hardware.
- Work directly with airline ULD Control, Cargo Operations and IT teams to understand operational requirements.
- Translate operational challenges such as asset utilisation, station imbalances, demurrage and repair cycles into product requirements.
- Support Sales with technical input for customer proposals, RFPs and roadmap discussions.
- Use learnings from live customer deployments to continuously improve the product.
Requirements
Experience with IoT is a must, ideally within connected devices, asset tracking, telemetry or similar technology environments.
- Understanding of airline cargo asset or ULD operations is an advantage, but not a must.
- Demonstrated project manager experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing significant software development programmes, preferably delivered through external suppliers.
- Experience owning a product or programme roadmap and establishing control over delivery.
- Practical understanding of Agile software development, CI/CD and modern software delivery practices.
- Familiarity with data platforms and the practical application of AI.
- Strong stakeholder management skills in an international environment.
- Professional fluency in English.
- Existing right to work in the EU and ability to work from our office in Alkmaar, the Netherlands.
- Experience with AWS, cloud architecture, aviation messaging standards or IoT platforms would be an advantage.

We are AviusULD, an international aviation company specialising in Unit Load Devices (ULDs) and innovative solutions that help airlines manage their cargo operations more efficiently. With SmartULD, our kinetically powered asset-tracking solution, we generate continuous location, condition and utilisation data from ULD fleets and other aviation equipment, turning data into meaningful operational intelligence. This is a key role in the development of our SmartULD platform, offering end-to-end ownership of an innovative product combining aviation, IoT, software and data. You will work in an international environment with direct exposure to airlines and technology partners, interact with the leadership of AviusULD and the wider CCE Group, and help shape a new product category while growing with our Digital Solutions organisation. The role is based in Alkmaar, the Netherlands, with hybrid working.
