Job description
- Provide Tier 1 support for hardware (laptops, mobile devices, interactive displays, printers), software, and network connectivity across assigned sites.
- Troubleshoot, repair, image, and update technology assets to minimize classroom and operational downtime.
- Conduct regular preventive maintenance and audits on campus technology components.
- Set up and support technology for district events, board meetings, and standardized testing, including hardware relocation and cable management.
- Assist with hardware inventories, auditing, barcoding, and maintaining accurate records in the district asset management system.
- Transport technology assets safely and securely between district facilities.
- ommunicate technical issues clearly to staff, educators, parents, and administration.
- Escalate complex, unresolved infrastructure issues to Tier 3 engineering teams (Networking, Systems, Cybersecurity).
- Coordinate warranty services, repair claims, and vendor technicians for authorized equipment servicing.
- Recommend workflow optimizations to the Technology Service Center Manager to reduce costs and increase productivity.
- Maintain clean, organized, and secure work areas, server closets, and technology storage spaces.
- Operate tools and equipment safely and in compliance with district policies
Specialized Tech Support
- Assist the Help Desk during scheduled or peak periods by answering phone queues and providing live or remote troubleshooting.
- Document, classify, prioritize, and route tickets in the district work order system within established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Deliver direct technical assistance to Virtual students, including remote software troubleshooting, LMS access, and video conferencing support.
- Coordinate device distribution, swaps, repairs for Virtual students
- Guide Virtual students and parents through home network connectivity, portal navigation, multi-factor authentication (MFA), and digital learning tools.
- Deliver elite, rapid-response technical support to the Superintendent, Board of Trustees, Executive Cabinet, and senior leadership.
- Resolve priority executive issues with the utmost professionalism, tact, and composure under pressure.
- Ensure seamless technology readiness for high-stakes presentations, remote meetings, and board workshops.
- Provide targeted hardware and software support for police facilities, mobile command units, and emergency communications.
- Maintain law enforcement infrastructure in strict adherence to security protocols and chain-of-custody procedures.
- Handle sensitive data with absolute integrity, ensuring full compliance with CJIS, FERPA, and state regulations.
- Support and maintain transportation and athletic software and hardware.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Physical Demands: * Lifting & Moving: Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull technology equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. * Mobility: Regularly bend, crouch, kneel, crawl under desks, climb step ladders, and work in tight or confined spaces. * Stamina: Sustain prolonged periods of standing, walking across multi-building campuses, and sitting at desk or support stations.

Environmental Demands: * Travel: Regular local travel required between assigned campuses and administrative facilities. * Workspace: Occasional exposure to dust, server fan noise, and dense electrical cabling environments. * Pace: Thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment requiring rapid context-switching between hands-on campus repairs, Help Desk phone support, remote student assistance, and priority executive support.
Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field preferred.
- Experience: 2+ years of component-level troubleshooting and IT customer support (or an equivalent combination of education and experience) required.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of Windows OS, macOS, iOS, ChromeOS, Active Directory, and cloud-based Learning Management Systems (e.g., Canvas, Schoology, Google Classroom).
- Professional Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and telephone communication skills with a customer-first approach for staff, students, and parents. Must maintain professional composure with executive leadership and exercise strict discretion with highly confidential data (student, personnel, and law enforcement files).
- Certifications: CompTIA A+ preferred. Additional industry-standard certifications (e.g., Network+, Security+) are a strong plus.
- Special Requirements:
a. Valid Texas Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record. b. Willingness to use a personal vehicle for travel between assigned campuses and district facilities (mileage reimbursed). c. Ability to pass comprehensive fingerprinting, background checks, and police security clearances to access police department facilities/systems.
