Designer Specialist Expertise Secondary Systems Service

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Designer Specialist Expertise Secondary Systems to join a leading organisation operating within the electricity transmission and energy infrastructure sector. This position offers the chance to contribute to the development and maintenance of technical standards used within high-voltage transmission infrastructure, supporting the ongoing evolution of a reliable, sustainable, and future-focused electricity network. Working within the Grid Expertise & Standards (Secondary Systems) function, you will play a key role in the design, review, and standardisation of protection, control, automation, and measurement systems used across critical grid infrastructure projects. Key ResponsibilitiesReview and validate supplier technical drawings, designs, and standard documentation.Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) when required.Develop and maintain AutoCAD symbols based on approved supplier documentation.Create, review, and update standard plans, protection block diagrams, and detailed principle schematics.Ensure designs comply with established methodologies, concept requirements, engineering standards, and approved equipment specifications.Manage workload effectively to meet project priorities and deliverables.Maintain, improve, and adapt Excel-based engineering tools, including VBA/macros.Design and develop additional tools to support engineering and operational activities when required.Candidate Profile
