Job description

GovCIO is currently hiring for a Systems Administrator to provide Help Desk, Network Operations, Network Engineering, and Cybersecurity Support for US Army North. This position will be located in Ft Sam Houston, Texas and is an onsite position.

Responsibilities

The Army North Information Technology Directorate, known as the “G-6,” provides Help Desk/Service Desk, daily operations management, technical management services, and cybersecurity support for the Command.

The successful candidates will be responsible for overseeing US Army North (ARNORTH)’s computer networks to ensure proper administration, maintenance, and security. Duties include working with other IT staff and company employees to identify network or computer system needs, overseeing the installation of new hardware or software and resolving network issues. Other required activities include, but are not limited to:

  • The network administrator will support the compilation of records and reports concerning network operations and maintenance, troubleshoot network performance issues, analyze network traffic, and provide capacity planning solutions.
  • Provide support of network communications, including LAN/MAN/WAN systems in support of large-scale systems projects.
  • Perform system-level configuration of products including determination of software, hardware, OS, and other platform specifications, either with on-premises equipment or IaaS/PaaS/SaaS cloud components.
  • Provide assistance for all information systems operations activities, including computer and
  • telecommunications/communications operations, data entry, data control, LAN/MAN/WAN administration and operations support.
  • Monitor and respond to NIPRNET and SIPRNET hardware, software, network, and cloud platform problems through routine testing and analysis of all elements of the network facilities (including power, software, communications machinery, lines, modems, and terminals). Standard response procedures include identification of a problem, notification of appropriate personnel, complete troubleshooting or replacement procedures, and ensuring that notification of the appropriate personnel that the system(s) or equipment has returned to normal operations .
  • Utilize software and hardware tools and identify/diagnose complex problems and factors affecting network performance.

Requirements

  • Clearance Required: Secret

  • 5+ years of experience supporting networks including network administration and/or engineering
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT-related field, business administration, or technology management.
  • IAT Level II Certification (e.g., SEC+ or equivalent)

USD $65,000.00 - USD $71,000.00 /Yr.
