Job description

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join a collaborative technology team and contribute to the development of scalable, reliable and maintainable software solutions.

This role would suit a mid-level engineer who is comfortable working independently on development tasks while also collaborating closely with other engineers, technical teams and business stakeholders.

You will have the opportunity to work across the full software development lifecycle and gain exposure to modern technologies and engineering practices.

What you’ll be doing

  • Designing, developing and maintaining software applications
  • Building new functionality and improving existing systems
  • Writing clean, scalable and maintainable code
  • Working with APIs, databases and third party integrations
  • Identifying and resolving technical issues
  • Contributing to technical design and architectural discussions
  • Participating in code reviews and development standards
  • Writing and maintaining automated tests
  • Supporting deployment and CI/CD processes
  • Working with product and business teams to understand requirements
  • Contributing to continuous improvement across the engineering function

Requirements

We are looking for someone with solid commercial software engineering experience and a good understanding of modern development practices.

You should have experience with several of the following:

  • Java, C#, .NET, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript or another relevant language
  • Object oriented programming and software design principles
  • SQL and database technologies
  • REST APIs and integrations
  • Git and source control
  • Automated testing
  • CI/CD and deployment processes
  • Agile development environments

You should be comfortable taking ownership of development tasks, solving problems independently and contributing to technical discussions.

Desirable

Experience with any of the following would be advantageous:

  • React, Angular or other modern frontend frameworks
  • AWS, Azure or GCP
  • Docker and Kubernetes
  • Microservices and distributed systems
  • Event driven architecture
  • Cloud native development
  • Infrastructure as Code
  • DevOps practices
