Requirements
- Minimum of five yearsâ post-secondary education or relevant work experience, * Knowledge of information technology applications, processes, software and equipment
- Highly specialized knowledge of a specific technology
- Demonstrated team performance skills, service mindset approach, and the ability to act as a trusted advisor
- A minimum of a masters degree, in the field of molecular biology, bioinformatics or a related discipline.
- 3+ years experience working with RDMS/SQL in a production setting.
- PhD preferred.
- Demonstrated, strong background in collecting and processing scientific data, preferably in the context of Drosophila research. Experience with Perl or python in a UNIX environment is essential, and a working knowledge of java would be useful.
- The ideal candidate will have strong collaborative skills and an familiarity in the model organism database community, and an interest in software development using open-source software resources in the production of reusable software components suitable for open distribution.

- Completion of Harvard IT Academy specified foundational courses (or external equivalent) preferred

The successful candidate will collaborate in developing and maintaining database applications and data for public research use, and in developing analytical tools for the investigation of molecular biology datasets.
