Job description

We’re seeking an IT Support Specialist to provide day-to-day technical support across the organization. This is a tier-one help desk role focused on end-user support and workstation troubleshooting, with exposure to broader infrastructure components (networking, phones, servers). The position sits within a lean, three-person IT team and offers hands-on breadth rather than narrow specialization. This is a fully on-site role supporting office, shop, and field employees. Responsibilities

  • Provide support in person, remotely, and by phone for day-to-day IT issues
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for hardware, software, and computer system issues
  • Provide individual instruction/training to users on new or updated technologies
  • Assist with onboarding/offboarding, including account setup and hardware configuration
  • Assist with hardware refreshes and software rollouts
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues in a timely manner
  • Coordinate with vendors for troubleshooting and system support
  • Log, track, and resolve IT support tickets; escalate when necessary
  • Maintain equipment inventory (laptops, desktops, tablets, printers, accessories)
  • Maintain IT records and document procedures, system changes, and recurring support tasks
  • Travel locally between facilities as needed (primary facility and a nearby secondary site, roughly 10 minutes away); occasional travel to a facility in the Southeast

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of relevant IT support/help desk experience
  • Ability to troubleshoot independently and identify root causes without escalating every issue
  • Basic networking knowledge (this is a hard requirement)
  • Comfortable troubleshooting hardware and software issues across a wide range of applications
  • Flexible and adaptable; daily ticket volume and priorities shift frequently, with occasional last-minute needs
  • Willing to work in and learn within a manufacturing/shop environment Preferred Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or other formal education
  • Exposure to Cisco switches/Cisco CLI

Benefits & conditions

  • $23-$27/hour, depending on experience (some flexibility above $27 possible, pending internal approval)
  • Health, vision, and dental insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid time off
  • No bonus or equity component
