Job description
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer (COO) Scope: Owns NetSuite for Authority HVAC as the primary system of record, with secondary responsibility for general IT across employees, offices, and field staff in multiple states, The NetSuite Administrator / Developer owns Authority HVAC’s NetSuite environment end to end - configuration, customization, scripting, integrations, and reporting - and makes the platform work harder for the business over time. This is a hands-on, NetSuite-first role: most of your week is spent administering and developing in NetSuite, with general IT and end-user support as an important secondary responsibility. You report to the COO and are the go-to person for turning business needs into reliable, well-built system solutions., NetSuite Administration (primary)
- Own day-to-day NetSuite administration - users, roles, permissions, forms, fields, records, and workflows (SuiteFlow).
- Configure and maintain SuiteApps and native features to match how the business actually operates.
- Administer and optimize NetSuite Field Service Management (FSM) - work orders, scheduling/dispatch, and the technician mobile app - as a core system the field organization runs on daily.
- Manage saved searches, dashboards, and KPIs so each team has the visibility it needs.
-
Keep the environment healthy - sandbox management, release/update testing, and data integrity. NetSuite Development (primary)
- Design, write, and maintain SuiteScript (client, user event, scheduled, map/reduce, Suitelets, RESTlets) to extend NetSuite where configuration isn’t enough.
- Build and maintain integrations between NetSuite and other systems using APIs, REST web services, and RESTlets.
- Use SuiteQL and SuiteAnalytics for advanced querying and reporting.
-
Follow good development practice - testing in sandbox, documentation, and controlled deployment (SDF/source control where applicable). Data & Reporting
- Deliver trustworthy reports and dashboards to leadership and department heads.
- Own data quality and consistency within NetSuite and across integrated systems.
-
Partner with the business to turn recurring questions into reliable, repeatable reporting. General IT & End-User Support (secondary)
- Provide day-to-day IT support - accounts, devices, and common software/access issues.
- Handle device provisioning, onboarding, and offboarding as people join, move, or leave.
-
Support infrastructure and security basics (user access, endpoints, data protection), coordinating with IT vendors as needed. Vendor & Cost Management
- Coordinate NetSuite and IT vendors/partners - performance, contracts, and renewals.
- Recommend investments and customizations that deliver clear, measurable value.
Requirements
- 3+ years administering NetSuite, including configuration, saved searches, workflows, roles/permissions, and reporting.
- Hands-on SuiteScript development experience (SuiteScript 2.x) with strong JavaScript skills.
- Experience building NetSuite integrations using APIs, REST web services, and RESTlets.
- Working knowledge of SuiteQL/SuiteAnalytics and NetSuite’s data model.
- Experience with NetSuite Field Service Management (FSM), or strong ability to learn it quickly, given our field-heavy HVAC operation. Prior field service / dispatch software experience is a plus.
- NetSuite certifications preferred - SuiteFoundation, Administrator Professional, and/or the developer certifications (Application Developer / Web Services Developer) - or equivalent hands-on experience. Reporting (BI/SuiteAnalytics) or AI Foundations certifications are a plus.
- General IT aptitude - comfortable providing end-user support and handling basic infrastructure/security tasks, or clearly trainable to do so.
- Familiarity with AI tools and agents, and a track record of using them to work faster - automating routine tasks, assisting with scripting and troubleshooting, and improving day-to-day productivity.
- Strong problem-solver who can translate business needs into well-built system solutions.
-
Strong communicator who can explain technical options in plain language to non-technical staff. Success in the First 12 Months
- NetSuite is stable, well-documented, and configured to match how the business runs, with clean roles and permissions.
- High-value customizations, scripts, or integrations are delivered that measurably reduce manual work or improve visibility.
- Employees receive reliable day-to-day IT support alongside strong NetSuite ownership.
