Job description

The Leidos Digital Sector/Global Solutions Management-Operations II (GSMO-II) contract has an opening for a \nSenior Network Solutions Engineer in Fort Meade, MD. The Engineer will leverage Subject Matter Expert (SME) level expertise to help ensure secure, reliable, and uninterrupted availability of deployed Department of Defense IP network capabilities.\n \n \nResponsibilities:\n \n \n

  • Work with the program leadership team to define program-level architecture and engineering needs.\n
  • Apply system knowledge and engineering methodologies to help design new capabilities and enhancements to the operational baseline\n
  • Advise the program engineering team on network optimization opportunities and provide design recommendations.\n
  • Define system requirements for new capabilities\n
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive infrastructure documentation, including accurate, current network diagrams and system architecture records.\n
  • Prepare and brief technical and programmatic updates related to system integration, implementation progress, and operational status.\n
  • Produce reports, presentation materials, baseline documentation, and meeting support materials for technical and leadership audiences.\n
  • Maintain authorized-user records, system configurations, and related operational documentation.\n
  • Generate routine and on-demand configuration management reports to support government oversight, compliance, and decision-making\n
  • Evaluate and test current and emerging technologies for integration into the network as new or enhanced capabilities.\n
  • Create/update end user documentation such as user guides\n

Requirements

  • Requires BS in Engineering (or a related discipline) and 12-15 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 10-13 years of prior relevant experience. May consider work experience in lieu of a degree.\n
  • Experience with network systems engineering methodologies\n
  • Experience with architecture diagrams\n
  • Experience performing requirements analysis\n
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and in a team environment\n
  • Strong written and oral communication skills\n
  • Strong customer relation skills\n
  • Clearance: US Secret clearance required\n, * Experience supporting or strong familiarity with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) networks and services.\n
  • Experience or familiarity with non-terrestrial network communication systems. Specifically pLEO (Proliferated Low Earth Orbit) or Low Earth Orbit (LEO) technologies.\n
  • Experience with network layered encryption topologies and methodologies.\n
  • Experience with ITIL service delivery concepts and best practices.\n
  • Experience with change, configuration and performance management NetOps concepts.\n
  • Experience with system security, design, and architecture.\n
