Job description

As a Senior Manager, Data Science, you will lead advanced analytical initiatives to develop, validate, and deploy robust machine learning models that drive strategic business decisions. This role requires expertise in statistical methods, data visualization, and programming to translate complex data into actionable insights. You will collaborate across functions to align data solutions with business objectives, mentor team members, and ensure continuous improvement in modeling techniques. Your leadership will support scalable, data-driven strategies that enhance operational efficiency and deliver measurable value to the organization.

About the team:

The Decision Sciences team delivers comprehensive analytical solutions that enable informed decision-making across Supply Chain, Store Operations, Last Mile Delivery, and Innovation & Transformation. By providing precise and actionable insights, the team drives growth, improves efficiency, and supports strategic planning. Committed to leveraging advanced data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence techniques, the team continuously develops innovative solutions that enhance experiences for associates and customers alike. This collaborative group applies expertise in data visualization, statistical methods, and programming to transform complex data into meaningful business outcomes.

What you’ll do:

  • Supporting and driving long-term and short-term strategies for achieving business outcomes. Ability to frame strategies in the form of a business plan backed by financial models.
  • Partnering with cross-functional teams to identify business problems and opportunities.
  • Leading the data science team in delivering the state-of-the-art advanced analytical solutions.
  • Communicating effectively to all levels of the organization, including executives.
  • Fostering talent and leadership by attracting new team members to expand our team while creating a positive and supportive environment for our existing members to grow and excel.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of data scientist experience in delivering analytical insights and data-driven business strategies.
  • 5+ years of experience of building and leading high-performing domestic and multinational data science teams.
  • You’re experienced with forecasting, machine learning, simulation and optimization, GenAI, etc.
  • You have strong implementation experience with at least one of the programming languages (Python, R, Java, C++, etc.)
  • You have strong hand-on skills in data wrangling and debugging complex SQL queries.
  • You have strong written and oral communication skills.
  • You excel at presenting analytical insights to partners and senior leadership., Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position. If none are listed, there are no minimum qualifications.

Option 1: Bachelors degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 5 years’ experience in an analytics related field. Option 2: Masters degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 3 years’ experience in an analytics related field. Option 3: 7 years’ experience in an analytics or related field.
