Job description

Are you passionate about turning data into meaningful insight? We’re looking for a proactive and analytical Data and Performance Officer to support performance reporting, data quality improvement, responding accurately to frequent information requests, and to undertake analysis to support evidence-based decision making across Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service.

What you’ll do

  • Support the production and ongoing development of performance dashboards, reports and management information.
  • Analyse data trends and performance across Prevention, Protection, Response and Support Services.
  • Produce statistical analysis to support strategic decision making.
  • Respond to information requests, including Freedom of Information requests.
  • Support data quality, governance, GDPR compliance and implementation of the NFCC Fire Data Management Standard.
  • Extract, validate and report data using SQL and reporting tools.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical and skills.
  • Experience working with data, reporting and performance information.
  • Advanced Excel skills and an eye for detail.
  • Ability to communicate complex information clearly to a range of audiences.
  • Knowledge of SQL, Power BI and reporting systems is desirable.
  • Relevant analytical qualification or equivalent experience.

  • HNC/Certificate of Higher Education (CertHE) /BTEC or relevant demonstrable experience and training, with significant analytical or statistical element
