Job description
Snowflake AI/Cortex Development
- Build and optimize Snowflake AI Cortex workloads for inference, feature engineering, and AI-driven insights.
- Integrate Cortex capabilities into Client’s AI solutions for Snowflake-oriented customers.
Snowflake ML Engineering
- Develop SQLbased ML pipelines and Snowpark ML workflows.
- Build and deploy custom ML models using Snowpark container runtime.
- Re-engineer Databricks MLFlowbased workflows into Snowflake-native equivalents.
Semantic Layer Engineering
- Design and implement Snowflake’s DDLbased semantic metadata and governed semantic views.
- Translate Databricks metricview patterns into Snowflake semanticlayer constructs.
Governance & Platform Architecture
- Implement and operationalize Snowflake Horizon governance across data, semantics, ML, and AI workloads.
- Ensure alignment with enterprise governance, security, and compliance standards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Client AI Engineering teams building GenAI Data Solutions, Apps, and Agentic Development workflows.
- Partner with product, engineering, and customer teams to deliver Snowflake-native AI/ML capabilities.
Advisory & Knowledge Transfer
- Provide architectural guidance, best practices, and hands-on mentorship to internal teams.
- Help client build long-term Snowflake AI expertise and reduce dependency on Databricks-oriented patterns.
Requirements
- 5-10+ years in Data Engineering, ML Engineering, or AI Engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake AI Cortex.
- Deep expertise in Snowflake SQLML, Snowpark, and containerized ML workloads.
- Experience building Snowflake semantic layers using DDL-based metadata and governed views.
- Familiarity with Snowflake Horizon governance.
- Experience re-engineering or migrating ML/semantic workloads between Databricks and Snowflake.
- Ability to operate in lead/admin/architect roles.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional engineering teams.
Nice to Have
- SnowPro Core or SnowPro Advanced certifications.
- Experience with GenAI, LLM-based applications, or agentic development frameworks.
- Prior experience supporting Snowflake-oriented enterprise customers.
Contract-to-Hire Model
This role begins as a contract engagement with the intent to convert to full-time based on performance, organizational fit, and alignment with Client’ Snowflake AI roadmap.
