Job description
We are seeking an experienced Apigee Migration API Architect to lead enterprise API transformation and migration initiatives. This role will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable API architectures, driving Apigee platform migrations, and providing technical leadership across integration programs. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in API management, cloud technologies, security standards, and enterprise integration patterns. Responsibilities Lead API migration and integration initiatives, providing architectural guidance across client, onsite, and offshore delivery teams. Design, develop, and implement secure, scalable, and high-performing API solutions using Apigee Edge and/or Apigee X. Define future-state integration architectures and recommend best practices for enterprise API management and governance. Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, create technical designs, and support testing activities including SIT, UAT, and production deployments. Mentor team members, troubleshoot complex API issues, support production environments, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
8+ years of experience in API Management and Integration projects, including 6+ years of hands-on Apigee development experience. Proven experience implementing Apigee solutions on at least two enterprise-scale projects with expertise in API Proxy development, Shared Flows, Flow Hooks, and API Products. Strong understanding of API security including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, SAML, API Keys, mTLS, and SSL/TLS. Experience with cloud platforms (Google Cloud Platform preferred, AWS, or Azure), Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD tools, and modern DevOps practices. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; Apigee or Google Cloud certifications preferred. This is a hybrid role that requires working onsite 3 days per week. The first full week on the project will also require working onsite Monday-Friday. Candidates must be located in San Antonio, TX; Jacksonville, FL; or Alpharetta, GA.
