EEO statement

About the company

TEGNA Inc. helps people thrive in their local communities by providing the trusted local news and services that matter most. With 64 television stations in 51 U.S. markets, TEGNA reaches more than 100 million people monthly across the web, mobile apps, streaming, and linear television. Together, we are building a sustainable future for local news.

NOTE: Only candidates with experience in a journalism newsroom will be considered for this position.

TEGNA, the parent company of 64 television stations in 51 U.S. markets, is hiring a Data Enterprise Reporter who uses data to find, report, and tell stories that hold institutions accountable and help audiences understand the forces shaping their lives. The ideal candidate knows that data is just the start of the story.

This person has experience finding the story in raw data and then succinctly explaining findings to other reporters, news leaders, producers and the audience. You know how to find the heart and impact of a story within the data that will connect with the audience.

In this role, you will create visualizations and dashboards that bring context and understanding to your data-driven-reporting. You will write articles, conduct interviews, produce short explainers and vertical videos, and appear on camera to discuss your reporting.

This is a highly collaborative position working with national content, product, and growth teams, as well as local reporters and producers. One day you may be leading a national data-driven story and the next you may be working with a local investigative reporter on breaking news.
