Job description

  • Support and assist with Day-to-Day Maintenance of a Microsoft Windows AD Infrastructure, Microsoft Azure AD Infrastructure, and Microsoft Windows Server Platform.
  • Help establish networking environments by reviewing system configuration; assisting with system installation; documenting and enforcing system standards.
  • Assist in designing and configuring AWS and Azure cloud environment and services to deliver resilient and reliable application infrastructure service to customers.
  • Manage organization LAN, WAN, servers, storage, compute, , and security.
  • Supports the management of organization’s cloud infrastructure, including virtual networks, storage, compute, , and security.
  • Help maximizes network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with network architects on network optimization.
  • Assist in setting up and supporting Virtualization environments.
  • Assist in setting up and supporting Microsoft SQL Server environments.
  • Plans and implements of database maintenance and recurring tasks with the SQL Scheduling service.
  • Performs client consultation: plan, design, documents, implement, and support LAN/WAN networks.
  • Assists in planning and implementing network security, including maintaining firewalls, developing VPN, remote solutions and maintaining company security policies.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, upgrade, and provide solutions to hardware/software problems.

Requirements

  • Some hands-on experience with server applications in a Microsoft networked environment and high level of Active Directory Management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer/technology related field -or- Equivalent hands-on experience and either an associate degree or Technical schooling.
  • Basic project management and documentation skills.
  • High level of initiative and dedication; eagerness to learn and grow in the role.

Preferable

  • Familiar with Windows Server environment, SQL Server, High Performance Cluster, TCP/IP networking desired and Virtualization environment.
  • Familiar with AWS and Azure cloud services and infrastructures.
  • Foundational knowledge of MS Windows Server, MS SQL Server, Recovery TCP/IP networking, LAN/WAN, Routing and Switching.
  • Knowledge of server hardware and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Exposure to Data Backup and Disaster Recovery plan.
  • Scripting abilities in PowerShell, Batch commands, etc.

Travel Requirements

  • This role requires travel to client sites in the Richmond area and other locations throughout Virginia at least one day per week.
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required; candidates without a valid driver’s license will not be considered for this position.
