Job description
The Lighting Hardware Engineer will support the end-to-end hardware development of automotive exterior lighting systems, including headlamps, tail lamps, and rear combination lamps. The role involves automotive electronics hardware development, LED driver and power architecture, circuit design, validation, EMC/EMI troubleshooting, and production readiness., Develop and validate hardware for automotive exterior lighting systems, including headlamps, tail lamps, and rear combination lamps Design and evaluate system-level power architectures and LED driver strategies Perform circuit design, worst-case circuit analysis, derating, thermal, and reliability analysis Support CAN-FD/LIN integration and automotive electronics hardware development Perform pre-compliance and compliance EMC/EMI testing and troubleshoot conducted and radiated emissions Resolve EMI/EMC issues through PCB layout, filtering, and architectural improvements Support DFMEA, MTBF, functional safety, and production readiness activities
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field Strong hands-on experience in automotive lighting hardware development Experience with headlamps, tail lamps, or rear combination lamps Experience with automotive electronics, LED drivers, and power electronics Knowledge of CAN-FD and/or LIN communication Hands-on experience with EMI/EMC testing and troubleshooting Knowledge of PCB layout, filtering, thermal and reliability analysis Experience with DFMEA, functional safety, and production readiness is preferred Strong communication and problem-solving skills Ability to work onsite in Allen Park, MI
