This role is ideal for a technical leader with a design and engineering background who can manage a portfolio of A&E contracts, implement sustainability-driven solutions, and integrate cutting-edge technology into asset management strategies. The Director will oversee profit & loss (P&L) management, guide technical teams, and identify opportunities in capital planning, energy/water resilience, and emerging smart infrastructure technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Program Leadership & Growth/program management
Develop and execute a vision for the future of built environment asset management.
Identify and pursue growth opportunities in A&E services, LEED projects, Digital Twins, and facility condition assessments.
Drive strategic planning and execution for capital improvement programs, ERCIP (Energy Resilience and Conservation Investment Program), and Public-Private Partnerships (P3s).
Cultivate and maintain client relationships within state/federal agencies, military installations, real estate portfolios, and sustainability initiatives.
Expand service offerings in data-driven asset management, smart infrastructure, and resilience planning.
A&E Contract Oversight & Technical Execution
Oversee and manage multiple Architectural & Engineering (A&E) contracts, ensuring compliance, performance, and innovation.
Lead facility condition assessments (FCA), energy and water resilience planning, and capital investment strategies.
Provide technical and design leadership in MEP, infrastructure upgrades, and asset lifecycle planning.
Drive the integration of Digital Twins, IoT, and data analytics into asset management and capital planning.
Ensure high-quality project execution, balancing scope, schedule, budget, and sustainability.
Business & Financial Management
Oversee P&L management for a $4M+ program, ensuring financial health and operational efficiency.
Forecast revenue, track financial performance, and optimize resource allocation across multiple projects.
Support proposal development and competitive positioning for A&E contracts, sustainability initiatives, and smart infrastructure programs.
Sustainability, LEED, and Digital Transformation
Lead LEED, net-zero energy, and sustainability-driven projects within A&E contracts.
Integrate Digital Twin technology and smart building solutions into facility asset management.
Drive climate resilience and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) strategies into built environment solutions.
Team Development & Mentorship
Lead and mentor junior to mid-level engineers, sustainability specialists, and digital transformation experts.
Develop training plans and provide guidance on technical and business growth strategies.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Teamwork?, We are seeking a Director of Built Environment & Resilient Asset Management to lead and grow a $4M+ program, integrating technical expertise, program management, and business strategy. This leader will oversee A&E contracts, champion sustainability and Digital Twins, and drive asset management best practices. Qualified candidates should have demonstrated consulting experience., Required:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related).
10+ years of experience in facility condition assessments, MEP, asset management, energy/water resilience, or capital improvement planning.
Experience managing A&E contracts and overseeing multidisciplinary technical teams.
Strong background in design, sustainability, and energy-efficient infrastructure.
Knowledge of ERCIP (Energy Resilience and Conservation Investment Program) and Public-Private Partnerships (P3).
Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent qualification preferred.
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute a program vision with a growth mindset.
Experience in mentoring technical teams and growing business units.
Strong understanding of business financials, P&L management, and project profitability.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with client-facing experience.
Preferred:
Experience with federal contracts, DoD, VA, or state/local government projects.
Knowledge of LEED, climate resilience, ESG frameworks, and smart building technology.
Familiarity with Digital Twins, AI-driven asset management, and IoT-based infrastructure solutions.
Experience with capital planning software, asset management tools, and predictive maintenance analytics.
