Job description

Blu Omega is seeking a Sr Data Scientist to support a federal program focused on data analytics. This role operates within a remote environment and is responsible for supporting AI initiatives, machine learning, data analysis, and data modeling across mission-critical projects. The position requires experience leading complex data science projects within a government or mission-driven environment., * Support AI, including machine learning, to analyze data for accuracy, relevance, and intelligence gaps

  • Develop and evaluate innovative investigative, statistical, and predictive data models
  • Interpret data from multiple sources using techniques such as statistical analysis and data mining
  • Prepare large datasets, implement data models, and develop databases for business solutions
  • Lead technical projects involving state-of-the-art data science methodologies
  • Deploy and manage statistical, unsupervised, and supervised learning models with high accuracy and sensitivity
  • Perform mathematical/statistical modeling to organize, optimize, and predict data
  • Validate machine learning models through statistical techniques
  • Design algorithms including neural networks, decision trees, and surrogate models
  • Use Data Lakes, serverless computing (e.g., Athena, Lambda), and ETL processes to handle storage and processing limitations

Requirements

Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust suitability determination, * 4+ years of experience in custom AI training (supervised and unsupervised) and NLP focusing on unstructured data

  • 5+ years of expertise with at least one analytical/statistical language (Closure, Scala, Python, R)
  • 2+ years of experience manipulating unstructured data from various platforms
  • 2+ years of experience with data visualization tools (Elastic X-Pack, Power BI, Tableau, Qlik)
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience; educational background in Data Science is desirable, * Experience designing and validating neural networks, decision trees, or surrogate models
  • Knowledge of cloud storage solutions and serverless computing environments for large data handling
  • Experience working with government data and compliance standards

Benefits & conditions

Salary Range: $100,000 - $165,000
