Navy ERP Financial Posting & Mapping SME - Remote (1048)

Herdt Consulting is seeking an experienced Navy ERP Financial Posting & Mapping SME to support the Financial Improvement and Audit Remediation program. This role will trace, analyze, and document how source transactions and feeder-system data are transformed into automated Navy ERP financial postings, helping the team resolve data issues and improve the transparency and auditability of posting logic., * Map end-to-end transaction flows from source systems and feeder interfaces through automated Navy ERP financial postings.

• Analyze and document posting logic, business rules, field mappings, derivations, account assignments, and debit/credit outcomes.
• Trace source data to SAP FI/FM documents and identify the logic or data conditions contributing to failed, incomplete, or incorrect postings.
• Partner with functional, technical, interface, accounting, and data-cleansing SMEs to validate current-state and intended posting behavior.
• Develop clear process maps, data-mapping documents, decision tables, and functional specifications that support remediation and automation.
• Support reconciliation, testing, defect resolution, and validation of corrections to automated posting rules or related data processes.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or another relevant discipline * Experience: 10+ years of relevant professional experience, * Strong Navy ERP and SAP FI/FM experience with hands-on financial transaction research and document analysis.

• Experience tracing feeder-system or interface transactions through automated SAP posting processes.
• Knowledge of financial posting logic, account determination, business rules, data mapping, and reconciliation.
• Ability to interpret source data and resulting ERP documents, including relevant accounting and fund-control attributes.
• Experience documenting end-to-end process flows, field mappings, functional requirements, or posting-rule logic.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, facilitation, and technical writing skills., * Experience supporting Navy financial improvement, audit remediation, or data-cleansing initiatives.
• Knowledge of MILSTRIP, DTS, or other Navy feeder-system transaction flows.
• Experience supporting interface testing, automated posting validation, or SAP functional specifications.
