The Mission Assurance & Critical Infrastructure Protection Analyst provides onsite support to the Joint Staff Homeland Defense Division (J-36) Mission Assurance Branch. This role supports the implementation and execution of Department of Defense (DoD) Mission Assurance programs designed to identify, assess, manage, and monitor risks to critical defense assets and missions.
The successful candidate will collaborate with military services, combatant commands, asset owners, and senior leaders to support Mission Assurance initiatives, risk management activities, policy development, and critical infrastructure protection efforts that strengthen operational readiness and resilience across the Department of Defense., * Support the Joint Staff J-36 Mission Assurance Branch on Mission Assurance and Critical Infrastructure Protection initiatives.
- Assist in the execution of Mission Assurance processes, including asset identification, assessment, risk management, monitoring, and reporting activities.
- Support Defense Critical Asset nomination, validation, and criticality assessment activities.
- Coordinate with mission owners and asset owners to support vulnerability assessments, threat evaluations, resiliency planning, and mitigation strategies.
- Support the Mission Assurance Assessment Program, including integrated assessment scheduling, coordination, and stakeholder engagement efforts.
- Facilitate Mission Assurance working groups, meetings, and coordination forums by preparing agendas, briefings, reports, and supporting documentation.
- Develop briefing materials, information papers, executive summaries, and recommendations for senior leaders.
- Support the development and revision of Mission Assurance policies, procedures, benchmarks, and standards.
- Assist in maintaining data quality and accuracy within Mission Assurance systems and decision-support platforms.
- Coordinate with military services, combatant commands, and other Department of Defense stakeholders to support Mission Assurance priorities and objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Security Studies, or a related field.
- In lieu of a degree, eight (8) or more years of relevant operational experience may be substituted.
- Four (4) or more years of experience supporting Department of Defense, Mission Assurance, Critical Infrastructure Protection, Homeland Defense, or related national security programs preferred.
- Experience supporting military, government, or defense-related organizations.
Knowledge, Skills, & Experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience preparing executive-level reports, briefings, and presentations.
- Ability to coordinate with senior-level stakeholders, working groups, and cross-functional teams.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet established deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
It Would Be Nice If You Had
- Experience supporting Department of Defense Mission Assurance programs.
- Knowledge of Critical Infrastructure Protection, Risk Management, Homeland Defense, or Resilience programs.
- Familiarity with DoD Mission Assurance directives, policies, and assessment methodologies.
- Experience working with military headquarters, combatant commands, or other national security organizations.
Other Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance.
- Must possess a valid passport with a minimum of eight months remaining before expiration.
- Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
- Must be willing to comply with all customer and company workplace requirements, including maintaining a drug-free work environment.

- Onsite position located at the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia.
- Telework may be authorized based on mission requirements.
- Approximately 5% travel, including both CONUS and OCONUS travel opportunities.

Reports to Mission Assurance Program Leadership and provides direct support to the Joint Staff Homeland efense Division (J-36) Mission Assurance Branch., well-being of our employees and their families.
