Job description

Skeleton is scaling production of its ultracapacitors and SuperBattery cells in Leipzig. As Senior Solution Architect for MOM, you develop, customize and operate our platform on Siemens OpCenter MES and WinCC OA SCADA – and you own the architecture and roadmap on top of that. You take end-to-end ownership of your initiatives, set technical direction for the MES team, and work closely with the Automation, ERP and Production engineering teams. You keep the big picture in focus and stay hands-on. This is a small team.

Your tasks in the net zero journey:

  • Configure and develop Siemens OpCenter MES to support production and quality processes.
  • Own MES initiatives end-to-end: requirements, design, development, testing and deployment.
  • Develop and maintain WinCC OA SCADA applications and OPC UA integrations.
  • Build integrations with Epicor ERP and related systems.
  • Ensure stable MOM platform operations, support and issue resolution.
  • Develop and maintain Reportrunner reporting and data integrations.
  • Drive MOM platform architecture, standards and technical roadmap.
  • Provide technical leadership, design reviews and mentoring within the MES team.
  • Lead technical solution design, estimation and delivery for digitalization initiatives.

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent experience in automation, engineering, computer science or similar.
  • 5+ years of MES experience in manufacturing; OpCenter is a plus.
  • SCADA experience; WinCC OA preferred.
  • Knowledge of PLC-SCADA-MES integration, OPC UA and SQL.
  • Software development skills (.NET/C# or similar).
  • Experience leading cross-functional technical projects.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluent English; German is a plus.

  • Nice-to-Have:

Experience with WinCC OA and Siemens Opcenter MES.

Knowledge of reporting/data platforms and IT/OT integration.

Experience with Docker/Kubernetes and OT DevOps.

Understanding of industrial cybersecurity and high-availability systems.

Background in battery, semiconductor, automotive or regulated manufacturing.

Benefits & conditions

  • We offer flexible working hours and sufficient freedom for your own ideas.
  • A flat hierarchy culture - fostering our great working atmosphere.
  • Use the training budget to expand your knowledge and competencies.
  • Helpfulness among colleagues is not just an empty phrase but a practice everyday.
  • A motivating opportunity for continuous growth at Skeleton.
  • An additional day-off every year for your birthday.
  • Use our Edenred Voucher Card for your shopping experience with a top-up every month.
  • We offer a company pension scheme for your financial security in the future.
  • Be active & participate in our internal sports challenges (SkelFitness).
  • We have a pet-friendly office.
  • We celebrate our successes with Team Events, Summer & New Year’s parties, and other initiatives!

About the company

Skeleton Technologies is a global leader in critical power infrastructure for AI data centers and electrical grid stability, founded in 2009. Power today is more than electricity.

It is national security, digital continuity, and economic resilience. Skeleton is the Backbone of Power: equipping AI data centers, electrical grids, defense systems, and critical infrastructure with the resilience to withstand surges, instability, and failure. Our power systems protect GPU clusters from millisecond-level spikes, enable hyperscalers to run at higher rack densities without grid compromise, and make AI data centers up to 40% more energy efficient. We keep the lights on when grids fluctuate, stabilizing electrical infrastructure under the combined pressure of accelerating renewable energy deployment and surging AI demand.

When power fails, critical operations stop. We exist to prevent that in microseconds. Powering the infrastructure that powers everything else.
