Job description
Join TxDOT’s fast-evolving Digital Delivery and AI team as a Systems Analyst / AI Specialist. Work directly with engineering software, model ingestion, and automation tools to impact large-scale digital transformation. This hands-on role is ideal for candidates passionate about leveraging AI and automation to solve real-world business challenges, offering exposure to the latest cloud and DevOps technologies in a collaborative environment. - Collaborate with business units to analyze operational workflows, data needs, and reporting requirements.
- Document detailed user requirements, workflows, and system specifications for new or modified applications.
- Conduct feasibility studies and perform cost/benefit analysis on proposed automation and AI solutions.
- Develop scripts and prototypes for process automation and AI-driven features using Python and Bash.
- Assess system capabilities and ensure alignment with TxDOT technical standards.
- Support rapid testing and validation of new digital solutions in an agile, fast-paced setting.

Requirements
1-3 years’ experience in systems analysis, software engineering, or related field.
- Proficient in Python and Bash for automation and data processing.
- Solid understanding of AI/ML fundamentals and hands-on with pre-built models or APIs.
- Strong analytical ability for problem-solving and technology-driven solution design.
- Effective written and verbal communication for requirement documentation and stakeholder collaboration.

Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and supporting rapid prototyping. [Preferred Skills]
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Data Science, or Artificial Intelligence.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
- Experience with containerization (Docker) and data integration/API development.
- Exposure to agile methodologies and quick prototyping tools.
