Job description

Join a pivotal data leadership team within Health and Human Services (HHS) as the AI Business Intelligence Lead. You will bridge the gap between cutting-edge AI data solutions and operational program needs, empowering non-technical staff to leverage complex data for strategic decision-making and official reporting. This is an impactful opportunity to shape a data-driven culture, mentor teams, and work on transformative projects in a supportive, collaborative environment. Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary liaison between IT, data teams, and non-technical HHS program staff to gather requirements and translate them into actionable AI-driven data queries.
  • Lead and manage technical projects using hybrid Agile and Waterfall methodologies, ensuring all project documentation and deliverables are met.
  • Develop, refine, and maintain AI prompts and query templates to extract, synthesize, and validate data from multiple complex sources.
  • Guide and mentor non-technical users in effective AI prompting and interpretation of data outputs for accurate reporting.
  • Collaborate with analysts and IT leaders to create and validate dashboards, reports, and visualizations for program monitoring and compliance.
  • Champion data literacy by designing and delivering AI training sessions, documentation, and tutorials for staff at all skill levels.
  • Ensure data integrity, adherence to reporting standards, and compliance with governance and regulatory requirements.
  • Continuously explore and implement new AI and data analytics tools to improve data quality and access across the organization.

Requirements

10+ years in data analysis, business/systems analytics, or data liaison roles within complex environments.

  • Proven expertise in translating business requirements into technical data queries, including AI prompting.
  • Advanced SQL skills for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Strong experience with Power BI and/or Tableau for data visualization.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, able to simplify technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse teams and validate data outputs for official reporting. Preferred Skills

  • Project management experience utilizing Agile and Waterfall methods.
  • Experience in Business Intelligence/Data Warehouse environments.
  • Prior work in health and human services or regulated agencies.
  • Familiarity with data governance, data quality, and responsible AI practices.
  • Experience developing and leading data literacy and AI training.
  • Exposure to Python and Streamlit for AI prompt catalogs.

Benefits & conditions

Competitive pay rate: $77 $87/hr.

  • High-impact role driving digital transformation in public health and human services.
  • Professional growth through leadership, upskilling in AI, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Opportunity to contribute to data-driven decision-making at the agency level.
  • Supportive work environment with a focus on innovation and continuous learning.
