Job description
SAIC is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our team supporting the Tactical Aviation and Ground Munitions (TAGM) Project Office at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL. This role involves providing critical engineering and technical support to ensure the successful development, qualification, and sustainment of systems and capabilities for the U.S. Navy, Air Force, and Army.
The Systems Engineer will be responsible for but not limited to the following duties:
- Provide support for Proximity Fuze efforts, including qualification of Navy Dual Safe and working on engineering and supply challenges for the Single Safe Prox Fuze.
- Collaborate with the U.S. Navy and Air Force to ensure cross-service compatibility and coordination on APKWS developments and operations.
- Support Configuration Control Boards (CCBs) for APKWS.
- Coordinate with Tri-Service and AvMC Science & Technology initiatives regarding future APKWS developments, including assessing applicability for U.S. Army requirements.
- Engage with safety organizations to produce required documentation to support shipping, storage, and material release processes for new APKWS variants.
- Provide critical program support for TAGM, PM ACE/SHIELD, and APKWS-based systems
- Manage APKWS Load, Assembly, and Pack operations with Letterkenny Munitions Center for all Army APKWS builds.
- Develop and manage Stockpile Reliability Testing processes for APKWS.
- Perform qualification activities for the XM650 container.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years’ experience; additional four (4) years’ experience can be considered in lieu of degree, * Must possess an active Secret security clearance with the ability to maintain; US Citizenship required, * Demonstrated experience with proximity fuzes, APKWS operations, and/or munitions systems
- Hands-on experience with load, assembly, and pack processes at military depots or similar facilities
- Proven ability to manage cross-service interactions with U.S. Navy, Air Force, and Army stakeholders
Desired Skills or Required Certifications:
- Expertise in safety compliance and documentation requirements for military weapon systems
- Understanding of Configuration Control Boards (CCBs) and their processes
