Requirements

Our client is seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer to help build next-generation data infrastructure and AI-enabled workflows. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, self-motivated, and enthusiastic about staying current with emerging AI/ML and data platform trends. This is a hybrid position based in New York, NY. Senior Data Platform Engineer’s Responsibilities and Duties:

Design, build, and operate a governed, self-service data lake platform using S3 and AWS Glue
Implement data governance and fine-grained access control using AWS Lake Formation
Automate infrastructure provisioning as code using Terraform
Contribute to a GenAI knowledge base platform and RAG-based applications
Build real-time streaming pipelines using Kafka as platform needs evolve
Build and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest structured and unstructured data

Senior Data Platform Engineer’s Qualifications and Skills:

At least 5 years of hands-on data engineering or data platform experience
Strong experience with AWS services, including S3, Glue, Athena, and EMR
Experience with data governance tools such as AWS Lake Formation
Proficiency in Python and PySpark, with strong SQL skills
Experience with Terraform, CI/CD, Git, and containerization
