Architect IV, Applications, Enterprise Automation

Kaiser Permanente seeks an Architect IV, Applications, Enterprise Automation to design and lead scalable automation solutions for our IT platform. You will define application architecture, integrate automation tools, and modernize legacy systems into cloud-native, resilient services. Partnering with product, engineering, and operations teams, you’ll set technical standards, drive best practices, and ensure security and compliance. This role suits an experienced architect passionate about automation, distributed systems, and empowering entrepreneurs with reliable, user-focused software.

Responsibilities

• Design and own enterprise application and automation architecture across platforms
• Lead implementation of scalable, secure automation workflows and services
• Modernize legacy applications into cloud-native, microservices-based solutions
• Define and enforce architecture standards, patterns, and best practices
• Collaborate with product and engineering to align architecture with business goals
• Integrate APIs and third-party services to support automation capabilities
• Ensure performance, reliability, and observability of critical systems
• Embed security, compliance, and data protection into all designs
• Mentor engineers and review designs and code for architectural alignment
