IT Applications Engineer IV

Kaiser Permanente seeks an IT Applications Engineer IV for our Information Technology (IT) & Data Management team. In this senior role, you will design, build, and optimize complex enterprise applications that support healthcare operations. You’ll lead end-to-end solution delivery, integrate clinical and business systems, and ensure performance, security, and scalability. Partner with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into technical designs, guide code reviews, mentor engineers, and drive automation, observability, and continuous improvement across our critical IT platforms. Design and architect complex enterprise healthcare applications Lead end-to-end delivery of application enhancements and new solutions Integrate clinical, business, and data management systems via APIs and services Ensure application performance, reliability, security, and scalability Collaborate with product, data, and operations teams to refine technical requirements Oversee code quality through reviews, standards, and best practices Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers Drive automation, CI/CD, and observability improvements Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues Contribute to technology roadmap and continuous improvement initiatives Enterprise application architecture Software development (e.g., Java, C#, or similar) API design and systems integration Cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) Database design and SQL DevOps and CI/CD pipelines Application performance tuning and monitoring Security best practices and compliance Requirements analysis and solution design
