The (USA) Manager, Technology Operations leads the planning, execution, and oversight of multiple technology projects aligned with strategic objectives. This role ensures effective program management, risk mitigation, and financial governance while fostering collaboration across cross-functional teams. The manager drives operational excellence by monitoring progress, managing resources, and maintaining stakeholder communications. About the team:
The Release Management team at Walmart Data Ventures ensures seamless delivery of high-quality product releases across critical data platforms. They manage the Product Development Lifecycle by driving governance, operational excellence, and consistent cadence across initiatives. Focused on modernization, the team leverages automation, AI, and scalable frameworks aligned with strategic planning and customer-facing documentation. Collaborating cross-functionally, they build strong relationships and uphold accountability to achieve business objectives. Committed to continuous improvement and innovation, this team supports Walmart’s dedication to delivering value and excellence in release management and execution.
What you’ll do:
- Define and manage goals, deliverables, and schedules for multiple technology projects aligned with strategic objectives.
- Assess resources, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful project completion.
- Monitor project progress, lead coordination meetings, and take corrective actions to maintain program health.
- Drive continuous improvement through data, tooling, and disciplined iteration.
- Build stakeholder consensus by communicating clearly, presenting data-driven recommendations, and fostering collaboration.
- Manage technology-related process updates and support business operations by aligning projects with organizational priorities.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and development opportunities to team members while ensuring compliance with company policies.
Requirements
- Proven expertise in program and project management, including planning, estimation, monitoring, and control of medium to high-complexity technology initiatives.
- Deep technical fluency across devops, automation, and observability tooling, with the hands-on aptitude to evaluate, prototype, and integrate emerging technologies (including AI-native capabilities) that raise the ceiling on release quality.
- Excellent stakeholder communication and influencing abilities to build consensus and present data-driven recommendations.
- Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, technology strategy, and operational business priorities.
- Experience in risk assessment, mitigation, and governance to ensure successful project delivery.
- Ability to provide constructive feedback and foster accountability within teams.

Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, industrial engineering, engineering management, business, information systems, project/program management, information technology, finance, management, or related area and 3 years’ experience in project management, program management, program operations, or related area.
