Job description
Our client, a leading organisation within the defence and security sector, is seeking a C# .NET Software Engineer to support the development of advanced electronic warfare and mission systems in Luton. This contract role offers the opportunity to work within a mature software development environment, delivering innovative defence technology with a high degree of autonomy., * Develop robust applications using C# .NET within a Windows environment
- Take ownership of complex tasks throughout the full software development lifecycle, from requirements through to integration, testing and delivery
- Apply object-oriented design principles and software verification and validation techniques
- Develop and maintain web-based applications
- Contribute to automated testing frameworks and continuous integration and continuous delivery practices
- Work collaboratively with a skilled development team while delivering tasks independently and with minimal supervision
Requirements
- Strong experience in C# .NET software development, including web-based applications
- Sound understanding of object-oriented design and software development methodologies
- Experience across the full software development lifecycle
- Knowledge of automated testing frameworks and testing practices
- Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery practices
- Experience working with Agile methodologies, including Scrum or Kanban
- Understanding of microservices architecture
- Full UK Security Check (SC) clearance
Desirable Skills:
- Experience within the defence or electronic warfare sectors
- Familiarity with WPF, WinForms and Visual Studio
- Experience using DOORS, Cameo or Azure DevOps
- Knowledge of C++ development
