Job description

Our client, a leading organisation within the defence and security sector, is seeking a C# .NET Software Engineer to support the development of advanced electronic warfare and mission systems in Luton. This contract role offers the opportunity to work within a mature software development environment, delivering innovative defence technology with a high degree of autonomy., * Develop robust applications using C# .NET within a Windows environment

  • Take ownership of complex tasks throughout the full software development lifecycle, from requirements through to integration, testing and delivery
  • Apply object-oriented design principles and software verification and validation techniques
  • Develop and maintain web-based applications
  • Contribute to automated testing frameworks and continuous integration and continuous delivery practices
  • Work collaboratively with a skilled development team while delivering tasks independently and with minimal supervision

Requirements

  • Strong experience in C# .NET software development, including web-based applications
  • Sound understanding of object-oriented design and software development methodologies
  • Experience across the full software development lifecycle
  • Knowledge of automated testing frameworks and testing practices
  • Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery practices
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies, including Scrum or Kanban
  • Understanding of microservices architecture
  • Full UK Security Check (SC) clearance

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience within the defence or electronic warfare sectors
  • Familiarity with WPF, WinForms and Visual Studio
  • Experience using DOORS, Cameo or Azure DevOps
  • Knowledge of C++ development
