Job description

Design and implement the logic behind core applications
Build APIs and microservices for data processing, business rules, and third-party integrations
Oversee the configuration and upkeep of secure, reliable server environments
Gather detailed requirements through meetings and workshops with internal teams and customers
Shape the product vision and roadmap by providing technical insight and feasibility guidance
Remain hands-on with architecture and design
Instill best practices in the team, conduct code reviews, and mentor team members
Collaboratively solve problems to help the team deliver high-quality software

Requirements

Minimum 2.1 BSc in Computer Science or similar technical discipline from a top tier / Russell Group university
As at A-level
Experience in a similar role in a finance / trading / hedge fund environment
Strong technical and team leadership skills
Experience conducting 1-2-1s, providing coaching, mentoring, and project leadership
Expertise in modern C# .Net Core; Python skills are a plus
Knowledge of modern software engineering best practices
Experience across the full software development lifecycle
Strong understanding of Computer Science fundamentals such as OOP, Data Structures, Design Patterns, and Algorithms
Passion for collaboration and problem solving in complex, distributed systems

As a Lead Software Developer, you will join our team in brand new Central Newcastle offices on a full-time basis. Our working hours are Monday to Friday, 0900-1800, with some flexibility.
