Senior Software Engineer, Backend (Card Ledger & Money Movement)

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Backend (Card Ledger & Money Movement) to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space.

This role will focus on designing and delivering highly available backend systems that power core financial transactions and ledger functionality. You will partner closely with product management, design, and analytics to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions and reliable execution. The position also calls for strong technical leadership in a fast-moving environment, with an emphasis on operational stability, code quality, and team growth., * Own and deliver quarterly goals for the engineering team while leading through ambiguity

• Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics throughout the product development lifecycle
• Proactively identify and advocate for solutions to project and technology issues
• Support the team’s operational availability through metric monitoring and escalation
• Foster a culture of quality and ownership by setting code review and design standards
• Develop talent within the team through feedback, guidance, and leading by example

• 4+ years of experience in backend system design, development, and launch using languages like Python or Kotlin
• Proven track record in developing highly available distributed systems with AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes
• Experience in creating elegant and extensible technical plans for significant systems or features
• Proficient in making substantial changes in large code bases with safety tools and practices
• Demonstrated ownership of personal and team growth through seeking feedback
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration across global teams
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience
