Job description

Programming & Test Engineer - John Deere Dubuque Works This is a high-impact, long-term 18+ month contract opportunity paying up to $35/hr, including 1 week of PTO. In this role, you will be the primary technical lead for integrating advanced testing hardware and software, ensuring that John Deere’s Construction & Forestry vehicles meet the highest standards of connectivity and performance., * Systems Integration: Lead the integration of testing hardware and software within a high-speed production environment.

  • Diagnostics: Perform deep-dive analysis of CAN logs to diagnose complex machine issues and implement robust troubleshooting solutions.
  • Connectivity Management: Oversee device connectivity and industrial networking using protocols such as OPC, OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus, and RFID.
  • Custom Tooling: Design and build custom tooling and specialized test stands to support manufacturing innovation.
  • Strategy & Vision: Collaborate with engineering teams and communicate technical strategies and vision to leadership to drive new technology adoption.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Log analysis?, * Controls & Electrical: 3+ years of expert-level experience in controls and electrical systems.

  • Testing Integration: 3+ years of experience integrating hardware/software in a production setting.
  • CAN Protocol: 2+ years of experience analyzing CAN logs for machine diagnostics.
  • Industrial Networking: 2+ years of experience with device connectivity and security (OPC UA, MQTT, etc.).
  • Background: Strong background in Electrical and/or Electronic Engineering.
  • Vehicle Systems: Prior experience with Construction & Forestry vehicle systems is highly preferred.
