Job description

Due to continued growth, we are hiring a new Senior Project Manager to support one of our key local government partners to deliver across the Business Systems element of a transformation programme.

What will you be doing?

  • Lead the delivery of key business system projects and enhancements, including Development Management Systems (DMS), GIS, Revenues & Benefits, HR & Payroll, and Digital Platform/CRM solutions.

  • Manage projects throughout the full lifecycle, from initial scoping and business case development through to implementation and benefits realisation.

  • Work closely with service areas, suppliers and stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver effective technology solutions.

  • Develop and maintain project plans, managing resources, budgets, risks and dependencies to ensure successful delivery.

  • Support system procurement, implementation, integration and upgrade activities in line with organisational requirements.

  • Lead business change and process improvement initiatives, ensuring a smooth transition to new systems and ways of working.

  • Monitor project progress, resolve issues and manage risks to deliver projects on time and within budget.

  • Promote best practice, innovation and continuous improvement across digital and business system projects.

  • Prepare and present project documentation, reports and updates to a range of stakeholders and governance boards.

Requirements

A PRINCE2-certified ICT Project Manager with extensive experience delivering complex technology and infrastructure projects, leading stakeholders and teams, managing budgets, risks and procurement activities, and driving successful business change within large, complex organisations., * PRINCE2 Practitioner certification.

  • Experience managing complex ICT or technology projects within local government.

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

  • Experience leading project teams and suppliers.

  • Excellent planning, risk and budget management skills.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability.

  • Ability to deliver projects in a complex organisational environment.

  • Customer-focused with a continuous improvement mindset.
