Assistant Professor of Computing Technology (Cybersecurity and IT Infrastructure)

The Department of Computing Technology in the School of Computer Science and Mathematics at Marist University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Computing Technology, with a focus on cybersecurity and IT infrastructure, at the Assistant Professor rank to begin in the Fall of 2027.

Candidates must have a doctoral degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a closely related field. We will consider ABDs in an appropriate field who will complete their dissertation within one year of hire. The ideal candidate should have experience teaching in one or more of the following areas: software development, systems analysis and design, data communications and networking, cybersecurity, database systems and information management, distributed computing, cloud computing, and IT infrastructure. Candidates should also be prepared to incorporate relevant AI concepts and tools into their teaching, as appropriate. Evidence of excellence in teaching and scholarly work is required. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required. Industry and/or consulting experience is highly desirable. Evidence of the ability to work effectively in diverse environments is highly regarded., Applicants should have the ability to teach in multiple areas, with teaching and research interests in cybersecurity and IT infrastructure. Applicants with the ability to teach broadly in areas such as software development, systems analysis and design, data communications and networking, cybersecurity, database systems and information management, distributed computing, cloud computing, and information technology management will receive preference. Candidates should be willing to learn about and engage with the discipline of quantum computing as departmental needs and opportunities evolve. Applicants must be willing to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in both traditional in-person and online environments. Required duties besides teaching and research include engagement in University and professional activities such as advising/mentoring students, and serving on department, school, or University committees. Preferred Qualifications: We seek candidates working in cybersecurity and IT infrastructure, including, but not limited to, network and systems security, cloud security, secure computing infrastructure, cyber operations, and enterprise computing. In addition to basic research, candidates with interdisciplinary or applied research programs in cybersecurity and IT infrastructure are encouraged to apply. Candidates who can contribute to a broad computing curriculum and who have a robust track record of publications and/or the potential to develop a strong research agenda will receive preference.
