As a Senior Web Developer with LLM Integration Expertise, you’ll be at the forefront of building and expanding the FOCUS platform-delivering high-performance, user-centric, and future-ready digital solutions that empower frontline teams. This role is pivotal in transforming how our client’s teams operate, leveraging advanced web technologies and AI to create seamless, scalable, and intelligent applications. Your work will directly impact the efficiency, safety, and innovation capacity of a critical public sector organization. By integrating cutting-edge AI models and driving technical excellence, you’ll help set new standards for digital policing and public service. What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead the end-to-end development, integration, and expansion of innovative web applications within the FOCUS platform.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary, agile teams-developers, analysts, and domain experts-to deliver robust, scalable solutions.
• Architect, code, test, and debug distributed applications using JavaScript/Node.js and React, ensuring high performance and maintainability.
• Design and implement microservices, leveraging Docker for containerization and RabbitMQ for messaging.
• Integrate and optimize relational databases, primarily PostgreSQL or comparable systems.
• Drive the adoption and integration of AI/ML models (LLMs, VLMs, RAG, multimodal) into web applications, enhancing intelligence and automation.
• Mentor and coach fellow developers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
• Champion agile methodologies, taking a leading role in Scrum practices and iterative delivery.
• Ensure all deliverables meet the highest standards of quality, security, and compliance.

• Proven ownership mindset-independent, proactive, and passionate about solving complex technical challenges.
• Demonstrated experience leading development teams and coaching peers.
• Ability to think architecturally and contribute to strategic technology decisions.
• Strong commitment to building impactful, user-focused solutions that drive real-world outcomes.
• Fluency in Dutch at European CEFR level C2-essential for team and stakeholder collaboration.

Technical Skills

• Senior-level experience developing web-based applications.
• Expertise in JavaScript, Node.js, and React.
• Deep knowledge of microservices architecture and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, RabbitMQ, and PostgreSQL (or similar RDBMS).
• Advanced CSS skills for responsive, high-quality UI development.
• Experience integrating AI/ML models (LLMs such as GPT, Claude, LLaMA; VLMs such as CLIP, BLIP, Flamingo).
• Knowledge of data preprocessing and augmentation (image, text, multimodal).
• Familiarity with Elixir, Redis, and vector databases.
• Experience with fine-tuning, prompt engineering, and retrieval augmented generation (RAG).
• Proven ability to integrate AI models into production applications, including multimodal (image + text, video + text) solutions.

Language Proficiency

• Dutch at European CEFR level C2 (mandatory).

Other Requirements

• Demonstrable experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies, including leading roles.
• Ability to sign and comply with IT code and NDA (to be completed and attached with your application).
