Senior Data Product Owner - HR Data

We are looking for a Senior Data Product Owner to join the data organization of a leading international retail organization and take ownership of an HR-focused Data Product.

You will act as the key link between HR business stakeholders and technical Data teams, translating business needs into clear priorities and actionable requirements. You will contribute to the progressive implementation of a Data Mesh approach while ensuring that data products deliver meaningful business value.

Working in a multidisciplinary environment, you will collaborate with Data Architects, Business Analysts, Data Engineers and other stakeholders. This is a long-term opportunity for an experienced Data Product Owner who combines strong business understanding with solid technical data knowledge., * Own and manage the HR Data Product and its priorities.

• Gather and translate HR business data requirements into actionable product priorities.
• Act as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical Data teams.
• Manage and prioritize the Data Product backlog.
• Coordinate with Data Architects, Business Analysts and Data Engineers.
• Engage regularly with key users, business stakeholders and sponsors.
• Support the progressive implementation of a Data Mesh approach.
• Ensure Data Products address relevant business needs and requirements.
• Contribute to Data Governance activities and practices.
• Use strong SQL knowledge to understand and challenge data-related requirements and solutions.
• Collaborate with teams working across different Data domains.
• Balance business priorities with technical feasibility.
• Coordinate multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
• Contribute to an evolving Data organization undergoing restructuring.
• Ensure effective communication between functional and technical stakeholders.

• Senior Data Product Owner experience.
• Minimum 7 years of professional experience preferred.
• Strong Medior profiles with 5+ years may also be considered.
• Experience working in a Data Mesh context.
• Strong SQL expertise.
• Strong understanding of Data Governance.
• Experience with Snowflake.
• Strong cloud knowledge; GCP preferred.
• Experience coordinating technical Data teams.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary Data teams.
• Strong business and technical orientation.
• Strong stakeholder and communication skills.
• Fluent English - mandatory.
• French OR Dutch - mandatory.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience with BI tools such as Strategy or MicroStrategy.
• AWS or Azure cloud experience where GCP is not available.
• Experience in HR Data environments.
• Experience working across multiple Data domains.

Experience

• 7+ years of professional experience preferred.
• Strong Medior candidates with 5+ years can also be considered.
• Senior Data Product Owner experience is strongly preferred.

Languages

• English - fluent and mandatory
• French OR Dutch - required
