Job description

As a Senior Data Engineer in Utrecht, you will build future-proof data chains with a direct impact on regulatory reporting and socially responsible banking. You will implement and manage the Historical Data Layer (HDL)-a strategic program for historical data storage supporting regulatory reports like FINREP and COREP-acting as a bridge between the Finance domain, DWH teams, and fellow engineers., * Data Chain Implementation: Implement and manage the complete data chain from source systems to regulatory reporting engines.

  • Domain Bridging: Connect the Finance domain with centralized DWH teams and other engineers.
  • Testing & Quality Assurance: Create test cases and mock-up data for unit testing in collaboration with the business, while guarding development standards and product quality.
  • Coaching & Leadership: Coach team members and take a leading role within and outside the team.

Your Deliverables:

  • Implemented Historical Data Layer (HDL) data chains and ETL pipelines.
  • Unit test cases, mock-up datasets, and code quality reviews.
  • Scalable, bitemporal, or structured data models supporting regulatory compliance.

Your Profile:

  • Education: HBO or University (WO) working and thinking level in Business IT (bedrijfsinformatica) or a related direction.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with Data Warehouses, ETL processes, and logical/physical data modeling.
  • Strong command of SQL and experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum and DevOps.
  • Professional background within the banking or financial sector.
  • Preferred Assets (Pré): Experience with regulatory reporting (FINREP, COREP) or bitemporally modeled data.
