Job description

Background: Candidates with proven experience developing high-performance, low-latency trading systems and working closely with Quants, Traders, and Product teams are highly preferred. Our client is looking for a Senior Java/Scala Developer with strong experience in high-throughput, low-latency trading platforms. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and scaling microservices that support real-time execution algorithms while ensuring ultra-low latency, high availability, and compliance with risk and regulatory requirements., * Design and develop distributed microservices using Java/Spring Boot for high-frequency trading environments.

Collaborate with Quants and Product Managers to translate complex execution strategies into production-ready applications.
Perform performance tuning, GC optimization, memory management, and concurrency optimization to maintain sub-millisecond execution speeds.
Implement Safe Trading protocols, including pre-trade risk checks and automated circuit breakers.
Build and maintain algorithmic trading engines and Smart Order Routing (SOR) systems.
Work with trading teams across the full trade lifecycle, including Order Management, Execution, Clearing, and Settlement.
Ensure solutions meet applicable risk, audit, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

Expert-level Core Java, preferably Java 17+, with strong knowledge of multithreading, concurrency patterns, and the Java Memory Model.
Hands-on production experience with Scala, including functional programming, immutability, Akka, Play, or hybrid Java/Scala environments.
Extensive experience with Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Docker, and Kubernetes.
Experience with high-performance messaging technologies such as Kafka, Solace, or Aeron.
Experience with low-latency data stores such as Redis and Hazelcast, along with SQL/NoSQL databases.
Strong understanding of L1/L2/L3 market data and order books.
Experience with algorithmic trading, execution platforms, and SOR systems.
Knowledge of MiFID II and SEC Rule 606.
Experience with TDD/BDD and CI/CD, including Jenkins or GitLab CI.
Familiarity with Istio or Linkerd is a plus.
