Senior Software Engineer-Trading Platform

Our client is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the team building a high-performance, scalable trading application used by a global client base. The ideal candidate has a high-ownership mindset, strong analytical skills, and is comfortable working within an established, mature codebase. This is a hybrid position based in Fairfield County, CT. Senior Software Engineer, Trading Platform’s Responsibilities and Duties:

• Design, develop, and maintain features across the trading application, with a primary focus on the Java business layer
• Integrate with backend services over REST, WebSockets, and FIX to deliver responsive, reliable functionality
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, and code review
• Collaborate with business analysts, product managers, and other developers to translate requirements into software
• Write and maintain clear technical documentation for delivered features
• Investigate and resolve complex technical issues across the stack
• Stay current with tools, libraries, and techniques that improve the platform

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field with at least 3 years of professional software development experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of experience
• Strong proficiency in Java, with a deep understanding of object-oriented programming and software design patterns
• Working knowledge of multithreading and concurrency, with attention to low-latency programming
• Proficiency with Git for source control and collaborative development
• Experience with declarative, state-driven UI frameworks (React Native, Flutter, QML) is a plus
