Job description

Our client is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build and maintain back-end financial systems supporting clearing, funds, and brokerage operations. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented self-starter who is passionate about clean, well-tested code and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively. This is a hybrid position based in Fairfield County, CT. Senior Software Engineer’s Responsibilities and Duties:

Design and build software applications and back-end services with a focus on functionality, reliability, and scalability
Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code using Java
Test thoroughly to identify and resolve bugs and quality issues
Collaborate with developers, designers, product managers, and stakeholders on project requirements
Review peer code and provide constructive feedback
Update and enhance existing applications to improve efficiency and fix vulnerabilities

Requirements

At least 5 years of professional experience in Java or a similar object-oriented language
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field
Strong knowledge of object-oriented concepts and n-tier applications
Knowledge of relational database concepts (Oracle a plus)
Hands-on experience with server-side programming (Java/JEE or C++), message-oriented systems, RESTful web services, and microservices
Experience configuring and deploying on application servers, ideally JBoss
